Act of contrition

I believe

Come, Holy Spirit, come through the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, your beloved spouse.

We place in your precious hands, Most Holy Mother, all the intentions of our hearts.

We pray for: Pope Leo, for sick children, for parents who suffer alongside their children, for parents who have lost a child.

3 Hail Marys, asking for the graces of the Virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. R/ As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

First Mystery:

THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ANGEL TO THE VIRGIN — THE INCARNATION OF THE SON OF GOD

Fruit of the Mystery: Humility.

From the Letter to the Hebrews, chapter 10:5 — “Therefore, when he comes into the world, he says, ‘Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but you prepared a body for me. You did not accept burnt offerings or sin offerings; then I said, “Here I am; as it is written of me in the book, I come to do your will, O God.”’”

Intentions: We pray for all mothers carrying their child in their womb, for all women who desire to give life, so that every human life may be welcomed as a treasure; for our parents who gave us life, for married couples who cannot have children, for the children who have been aborted and for their mothers, and for all those responsible.

Our Father, 10 Hail Marys, Glory Be, O my Jesus, deliver us from the fire of hell, take all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of your mercy.

Second Mystery:

THE VISIT OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY TO HER COUSIN ELIZABETH

Fruit of the Mystery: Brotherly Charity / Love for one's neighbor.

From the Gospel according to St. Luke — “By the tender mercy of our God, the rising sun shall visit us from on high, to shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.”

Intentions: We pray for the sick, the dying, the prisoners, the poor, and all those who suffer in body and soul, that the Blessed Virgin Mary may deliver them from all kinds of danger. We ask for comfort for the afflicted, for those suffering from addictive diseases, and for those tormented by the devil.

Our Father, 10 Hail Marys, Glory Be, O my Jesus, deliver us from the fire of hell, take to heaven all souls, especially those most in need of your mercy.

Third Mystery:

THE BIRTH OF THE CHILD JESUS IN BETHLEHEM

Fruit of the Mystery: Spirit of poverty / Love of poverty.

From the Book of the Prophet Isaiah — “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Intentions: We pray for the persecuted Church, particularly in Nicaragua and Venezuela; for all the countries of the world; for peace in the world; for all the peoples suffering from war; for the victims and the guilty; and for the conversion of sinners.

Our Father, 10 Hail Marys, Glory Be, O my Jesus, deliver us from the fire of hell, take to heaven all souls, especially those most in need of your mercy.

Fourth Mystery:

THE PRESENTATION OF THE CHILD JESUS IN THE TEMPLE

From the Gospel according to St. Luke — “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people, and has raised up for us a power of salvation in the house of his servant David, as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets of old.”

Intentions: In thanksgiving for our lives, our faith, and for all that God grants us each day. For all families, that Christ may be the heart, the center, and the meaning of each home; for the deceased; and for the leaders of nations, that they may seek peace, the common good, justice, and the defense of life.

Our Father, 10 Hail Marys, Glory Be, O my Jesus, deliver us from the fire of hell, take all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of your mercy.

Intentions: We ask for the grace to love our enemies and to pray for them, the grace to learn to forgive and to ask for forgiveness. We pray for all priests and religious, for priestly and religious vocations, and for all who serve in the Sanctuary: hospital staff and volunteers.
